Scope and remit

As the Technical Sales Manager, you will lead and contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s sales strategy to expand the future growth of the sales function through identification of new business and new logos.

Involving careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, enhancing the operation of the business, position or reputation.

 

Personal duties

  • Client meetings, site visits, scoping and quoting
  • Driving sales successes aligned to the objectives of the sales team business plan
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Being aware of market trends and competitors
  • Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business
  • Promoting a culture of growth through sales across the business
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Increasing client base
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Developing growth strategies and plans.
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • Negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Raising the company profile by attending expositions and seminars
  • Suggesting new projects such as product development to tap into new markets.

 

Knowledge, training, and experience required

  • A strong proven technical background within the combustion industry / boiler house maintenance.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading teams and working alongside others with positivity and respect.
  • In depth technical, product and market knowledge.
  • Proven experience in engineering or operational management.
  • A good business understanding and commercial awareness.
  • Previous experience of working to health and safety requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • Customer focused experience in a field-based role.
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO standards and accreditation/best practice.
  • Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Full driving license.
