JBC apprentice update from Christian Hodgson

Since my last update, I have obtaining my ‘Safety Passport’, ‘Confined Space Card’, and completed an online ‘Asbestos Awareness Course’. I am also booked onto an ‘Abrasive Wheels’ course and looking forward to getting my first works vehicle.

I have had the opportunity to work away from home on several occasions which has given me the experience of what to expect when I am fully trained. I enjoy working as a valuable member of the team and receiving constructive feedback on how well I am doing. I have also been offered a great opportunity to work towards an NVQ in electrical systems which I am looking forward to.

He can be seen asking for clarification, seeking out his own learning and making notes to ensure he captures key information passed down from the experienced boiler team.

Christians confidence is improving month on month and this is allowing him to take on more in depth mechanical tasks, he has been heavily involved with boiler NDT and annual inspection works which will only add to his learning journey’.
