Last week we celebrated Jacob successfully completing his apprenticeships and becoming a fully qualified engineer, a significant milestone and a proud moment for JBC. Lets read about what he's achieved, the experience he’s gained, feedback from his line manager Lewis, and the role models who have supported him throughout his journey.
Jacob started with JBC on the 5th September 2022 and over the past four years, has demonstrated commitment, professionalism and real growth across a wide range of training, site work and team activities. Jacob isn't one to shy away from a team activity, recently being the goal keeper in a team 5-a-side football championship. He has completed a wide verity of training including: Safety Passport, Abrasive Wheels, PASMA, IPAF, Fire Warden / Fire Extinguisher, Manual Handling, Safe Isolation LOTO, Steam Safe Isolation, Limited Scope Gas Qualification, and Lead Boiler Engineer Matrix. Jacob achieved a huge milestone when receiving his new JBC van, demonstrating his ability to work more independantly.
Feedback from Jacob's line manager Lewis Richardson
"Jacob has passion for all thing steam and is most comfortable in a boiler room environment. He has matured into a lead boiler engineer and will no doubt flourish when taking the new apprenticeship cohort under his wing. His enthusiasm to become a lead boiler engineer is infectious and he is an asset to JBC with his knowledge of steam and industrial boilers."
"Kev and Rob have played a massive part in my development by helped me in very similar ways by always helping me with any questions I have had over the years I have been here and always helping me develop my knowledge on different systems ensuring I'm turning into a strong, knowledgeable capable engineer.
Both Ady and Ash have been amazing role models to look towards they have given me confidence in my ability from the start over the years and showed me independence and responsibilities in my work allowing me to have confidence in myself and the work I produce while also educating me when I didn't have the answer.
To all of you, thank you for being a massive part in me becoming the engineer I am today and I hope that one day I have a fraction of the knowledge you all have. Thank you for taking the time to teach me and I'm looking forward to working with you all in the future for many years."
