About the project
A service and maintenance client in the healthcare sector approached JBC after a critical failure on an economiser. With the economiser playing a vital role in recovering waste heat and supporting energy efficiency, the failure posed both operational and cost-related challenges. The client needed a fully managed, turnkey approach to safely remove the failed unit and install a high-quality replacement, all while ensuring compliance and minimising disruption to essential services.
Project goals
JBC’s Mechanical Services team led the project from start to finish, managing all elements of the removal and installation process. The damaged economiser was safely dismantled and responsibly disposed of, with the new unit sourced, supplied, and installed by our team. All welding was completed to coded standards, ensuring the integrity and safety of the installation. To optimise system performance and durability, the new economiser was fully insulated and finished with weatherproof cladding. We coordinated essential quality checks throughout the project, including non-destructive testing, and a hydrostatic pressure test.
Our solutions
The project was delivered on time, to a high standard, and with minimal impact on the client's daily operations. The newly installed economiser has already shown measurable improvements in energy efficiency. The client expressed complete satisfaction with the professionalism, technical expertise, and smooth delivery demonstrated by the JBC team.
This project highlights JBC’s ability to respond quickly, manage complex mechanical upgrades, and deliver long-term value through practical engineering outcomes.
