Our client has an annual full-site shutdown, which is planned for year after year.

During this time, a multitude of contract partners come onto the site and carry out pre-planned cyclical and statutory preventative maintenance.

JBC completed the following works during our clients shut down time to ensure they were ready for when they opened back up.

In total, there were 3 members of the boiler team, 1 apprentice, 2 service engineers and 5 pipefitters/welders who carried out the work on site.

  • Re stud rear door – boiler 1
  • Open up condensate tank and deaerator for inspection
  • Service burner to boiler and 2 burners and gas trains on the PM1 line
  • Wire in emergency stop in gate house and provide shrouding
  • Doors of both blowdown tanks (Continuous and Intermittent) removed for thorough Examination.
  • 2 “ valve on mezzanine floor to replace
  • Double block and bleed above boiler – including gaskets
  • Supply and fit spool piece to unifibres mill
  • Supply and fit spool pieces to the air main to enable redundant pipework
  • Supply and fit spool pieces to accommodate new safety valve on the condensate tank
