Our customer SRCL, a clinical waste company needed their heat exchanger refurbished urgently. The process required the existing unit to be removed, transported to our workshop, rebuilt and subsequently returned back to the customer’s site in full working order.
The existing unit was drained before it was disconnected and removed by a specialist lift contractor before been transported to our workshop in Normanton, where it was dismantled in order to gain access to the failed heat exchanger.
A new, replacement heat exchanger, complete with headers, support bracketry and high efficiency finned tubes was manufactured by our Mechanical Team to replace the old unit.
The new heat exchanger was pressure tested, before the units were re-assembled and transported back to the customers’ site.
The unit was then reassembled on site and experienced welders were on standby as the system was refilled and tested.
Finally, material certification and welder qualifications were issued.
