COAL FIRED STEAM TO GAS FIRED HTHW

Friday May 29 2020

Chesterfield Hospital had previously changed two of its HTHW boilers and a single steam boiler under another contract. We were successful in bidding as the Principle Contractor for removing the remaining single coal fired steam and two HTHW boilers, along with the associated flue ducting, ash and coal systems which were installed in the boiler house area.

Remedial civil and building work formed part of our supply and was carried out in advance of the new boiler delivery. A hired steam boiler provided back up during removal of the old boiler and commissioning of the new one. We supplied 2 x 3.25MW HTHW boilers and 1 x 2000kg/hour steam boiler on a staggered basis. We were responsible for their positioning and completed the pipework, electrical and BMS connections between boilers and existing services.

New chimneys and support masts formed part of our supply. The contract was completed 4 weeks ahead of the projected programme.
