The main boiler plant at Solihull Hospital was steam generated as the local health trust authority required all steam raising plants to be removed from the site. This meant it was necessary to install low pressure hot water systems.
The contract included the removal of the existing boiler plant and the installation of a new boiler plant in four separate departments. This included the installation of a combined heat and power plant and absorption chillers, all with the associated heating, cooling and gas pipework. Furthermore, pipework for the air handling units as well as for the plate heat exchanger, heating and domestic hot water systems was completed. Full testing and commissioning for all works was also carried out.
The duration of construction was 18 months with zero incidents.
Our client and the trust have reported that the work is of a high standard and looks exceptionally impressive.
