Thermal Fluid Services - Testing & Analysis

JBC offers in in-depth testing on your thermal fluids and will analyse and interpret the resulting data to produce accurate reports on your systems performance.

In accordance with new government legislation, there is now a requirement for all thermal fluids to be regularly tested through the collection of “live” samples and for companies to demonstrate consistent management of flash points.

We adhere to this regulation and will conduct all sampling activities in a safe, controlled operation by the following methods:-

Closed Sampling
Fluid samples that pass through atmosphere (open air) are not representative as the most volatile hydrocarbons are released into the atmosphere, thus returning artificially high flash point values to the fluid. All our samples are taken closed so this process cannot occur.

Operating Temperature Sampling
There is a discernable difference in viscosity between a cold sample and a hot sample taken at operating temperatures. The only true representative sample is that taken whilst the system is in operation.

Circulating Sampling
To ensure a homologous mix of hydrocarbons and accurate depiction of light end material, the sample must be taken while the fluid circulates the system.
Still samples are not representative.

Detioration in your thermal fluid or heat transfer system’s efficiency does not necessarily permit immediate replacement.

There are measures we can take that can extend fluid life before it is classified as condemned.
